Going to college is one of the best decisions that you can make for yourself. You will learn more in those four years–not to mention how many memories you will make along the way–than the rest of your life. Unfortunately, the fun social times and all of the unique learning situations that you have at your fingertips come at a pretty hefty cost. Sometimes you do not even realize the debt you build up in college until you get your first bill after graduation. Luckily, there are several student loan relief options that you have even the forgiveness of your student loans.

How Can I Get Relief?

First, you will need to decide which loan company will provide you with the best help and relief for your debt. Some companies will only forgive a certain percentage or half of the amount that you owe. However, there are some programs that will forgive all of your student loan debt depending on what your college major was. Make sure to shop around before you make your final decision.

What Are Some Of My Options?

If you majored in Education, then go teach in a low income area. Once you teach there for a certain time, you can apply for loan forgiveness! Of course, you can always join the military and as you go up in rank, the higher the amount of your loans will be forgiven. There are also income-based loan forgiveness offered by some loan companies. If you are having trouble finding a full-time job post-graduation, they will help you fill out the paperwork needed for applying to have your student loans forgiven. These are lengthy processes, but in the end not having to pay back college loans is worth it.
